By logging into the PIPS+ database, users agree to comply with following terms of use. These requirements supplement the general Terms and Conditions provided on this website.

All material, data, and written content contained on this site, including but not limited to Plastics Industry Producers Statistics (PIPS) reports and data contained in them (hereinafter collectively referred to as "Content") are proprietary to the American Chemistry Council (ACC) and the compilations, charts, visualizations and other content are protected by United States copyright law and may not be reproduced, distributed, transmitted, displayed, published or broadcast without the prior written permission of ACC. Users may not alter or remove any copyright or other notice from the Content. ACC grants authorized subscribers and users of this site the following limited permissions:

(1) Resin Producers participating in PIPS may distribute, for internal purposes only, copies of all or part of the reports to employees, agents and contractors of the PIPS member company, its parent company, or any subsidiary of which the PIPS member company owns at least a 50% interest. Employees, agents, and contractors may not further distribute the reports and may use the reports only to support work authorized by the PIPS resin producer. When downloading and distributing any reports for internal company use, it is each PIPS producer's responsibility to communicate that the Content is protected by this agreement and copyright protections. PIPS resin producers may also communicate individual data points from the reports to their customers and suppliers consistent with the terms herein.

(2) PIPS Category A Subscribers may distribute, for internal purposes only, copies of all or part of the reports to employees or any subsidiary of which the company owns at least a 50% interest. When downloading and distributing any reports for internal company use, it is each subscriber's responsibility to communicate that the Content is protected by this agreement and copyright protection.

(3) PIPS Category C Subscribers may modify and use individual data points and sell the summaries and insights on the data (such as incorporate the modified or partial data in their own material that they prepare for use by another individual or organization) with attribution for the data to ACC. They may not reproduce entire data sets, charts, or visualizations without ACC permission.

No other reproduction, distribution, display or broadcast of the Content is permitted without the prior written permission of ACC. For example, and without limitation of the foregoing, this means that:

  • Resin Producers are prohibited from providing some or all of the reports or data to industry consultants, investment firms, trade associations, or trade press without the express written permission of ACC.
  • Category A and C Subscribers are prohibited from redistributing or reselling the reports or complete data sets without the express written permission of ACC.
  • Subscribers that are trade associations are prohibited from reproducing, redistributing, or reselling any of the data from the PIPS reports, or incorporating any PIPS data in materials for use by another, without the express written permission of ACC.

To request permissions, contact ACC's Director of Plastics Industry Statistics at 202-249-7000.
